With an emphasis on the camper’s personal achievement in a supportive atmosphere, SO-Map-Y Camp activities are designed to build self-esteem, physical and social skills through programs that promote honesty, caring, respect and responsibility. The SO-Map-Y camp staff is dedicated to your child’s safety and well being so that every day of camp is a fun day filled with memorable events. Each week of camp has a different theme which adds interest, unity and excitement to each of the activities that are offered. Examples of such themes are: International Culture, Olympics, and Endangered Species. Activities at SO-Map-Y camp include: mini sports clinics including tennis, soccer, baseball and basketball, daily swim instruction and free swim, arts and crafts, model rocketry, nature activities, and games. These activities are led by specialists who have expertise in each of those areas. Camp also offers each session a special cultural or action trip, guest entertainers, or educational programs. This camp offers FREE bus transportation from various locations in Maplewood, South Orange and West Orange. Samples of Daily Schedule and Weekly Themes
Camp Hours: 9:00am – 3:30pmCamper-to-Staff Ratio: for 6 - 8 yrs, 8:1 and for 9 - 11 yrs, 10:1. Camp Location: Camp begins each day Maplecrest Park in Maplewood from 9am until aprox. 1pm. The children are then bussed to the JCC Metrowest in West Orange for their daily swim instruction and Free swim. Camp ends at the JCC and all campers are then bussed backed to the requested bus stop or the South Mountain YMCA for After Camp Care. 2010 Camp Fees: $780 each 3-Week Session Rainy Day Location: Marshall Elementary School, 262 Grove Road, South Orange FREE bus transportation from various locations in Maplewood, South Orange and West Orange.
