The South Mountain YMCA is a mission driven, community organization.  When you join the South Mountain YMCA, you are joining a worldwide organization committed to building ‘strong kids, strong families and strong communities'.  We are a charitible organization that provides a wide variety of services, programs and classes for people of all ages and no one is ever turned away due to their inability to pay.

Membership is required for most of our programs and all of our child care services here at the South Mountain YMCA.  Program Membership with the South Mountain YMCA may also be used for programs offered at our “sister” Metro YMCA of the Oranges Branches; West Essex YMCA, Sussex County YMCA, Fairview Lake YMCA, and East Orange YMCA.  Additionally, Family Membership entitles all family members to participate in family programming, which includes;

•   Famtastics                                                    
•     Parents’ Night Out
•    Family Fun Nights
•    Music & Me
•    Teen Middle School Dances
•    Teen Open Basketball Court
•    Adult Open Basketball Court

•    and special trips & events.

Annual Program Membership Prices as of 01/01/2010;

Individual $80
Family $150

Late Renewal charges: Lapsed memberships while actively participating in our child care programs will result in a Late Fee of $10/month if memberships are not renewed within 30 days.

Class registration and renewal of memberships can be processed online at your convenience or at our administrative office at 13 Jefferson Avenue in Maplewood.

New Memberships must be processed in person with an adult member of the family for all memberships.

                  • Receipts for registrations made online will be E-mailed back to you directly.
                  • Mid-session registration is available.
                  • Most programs meet once a week unless otherwise noted.
                  • All memberships must be valid through the end of the program session.
                  • Missed classes my be made up in the same session provided there is room in the class and approval of the instructor.
                  • The Board of Managers reserves the right to change fees, schedules, instructors and cancel classes without prior notice.
                  • The YMCA is not responsible for the loss of personal property.
                  • All classes are co-ed except where otherwise noted.
